Welcome to AWANA!

Thank you for allowing your son or daughter to be a part of AWANA. They are in for a great time this year, with a load of fun packed into each Wednesday night, and a variety of special activities as well. They will want to return every week!

AWANA is about much more than just a good time. We are all about reaching boys and girls with the gospel of Christ, and training them to serve Him!Your son or daughter will grow in Bible knowledge and application this year. We want to help them grow in ways pleasing to God and to you!

Q: What do kids do at AWANA?

A: A lot in two hours! Arriving on time means they won't miss out on all the fun and action! Check-in each night begins at 6:30 pm. Five major activities fill the evening:

Opening Flag Ceremony
The entire club assembles around the game circle to pledge allegiance to the American and AWANA flags and opening prayer.

Game Time
Game Time is unique! Played on the game circle inside a large square, it uses four teams so everyone gets a lot of playing time as part of a team! Adult team leaders encourage organization, enthusiasm, and good sportsmanship. Please wear gym shoes and long pants!

Handbook Time
Clubbers proceed through their own handbooks by passing "sections." These usually involve Bible memory, and other activities. Some practice and preparation at home will go a long way to help them excel and receive awards sooner!

Getting off to a good start is important! On their first meeting each clubber receives an entrance booklet called "Start Zone" to get them going. Completing the Start Zone qualifies them as an official club member. Now is the time to purchase their handbook and uniform!

An award is earned at the completion of 7 sections. Plus awards for club and church attendance (any church counts). There are major awards for those who complete their book in the year, and a special summer Scholarship Camp for older achievers (completing 6th grade or higher)!

Council Time
Fun songs and songs of praise to lift the Spirit! A Bible lesson with real-life application is always included. Check with your child's club Director for where and when!

Closing Ceremony
Achievements are recognized and individual awards presented to honor and encourage your clubber. Uniforms must be worn to receive awards. The evening is closed in prayer.

Registration

Annual registration is $25 per child, or a maximum of $75 per family. Pro-rated in January at the half way point.  Handbooks are included in the registration. A registration card is needed for each child in club, including the medical information and release section.
